While millions of Americans are buzzing about Disney's First Black Princess, Tiana,
making her big screen debut aside Prince Naveen, in The Princess and the Frog, some of
the buzz is not so good.
Many Black Christian parents are concerned about the Fairy Godmother doubling as a
"good" Voodoo Priestess; not to mention, the Prince and his womanizing ways. For many
African Americans who have been waiting all their lives for this moment to arrive, where
they could live vicariously through a princess and see themselves reflected on the screen,

1. Voodoo, for Christians, has negative associations and opposes our faith.
2. The Prince is a fornicator who has lost his inheritance, so he's not so noble after all.
3. The firefly "sidekick" is missing most of its teeth and sounds highly uneducated.
4. The women in the movie show too much cleavage and are way to sexy.
5. There's too much sexual innuendo in the film.
