Fat Or Skinny? Is it the True Ultimate Battle of Beauty?
By Mirika Mayo Cornelius
There was no size mentioned. The size of none of His creations was mentioned in calculated number or weight. His creations were,
and are still good, no matter what the weight; therefore, showing everyone that beauty isn‘t in the eye of the beholder, but it is in the
eye of the Creator.
“Oh, how I behold you!” In other words, oh how I see you. Perception, vision, feeling, and emotion are all things that are apt to
change - right along with weight. If a single person took note of the many times during their natural born lives that people critiqued
them on how he or she looked, they would be insane, thus proving the result of non-health related numeric critiques.
To attempt to please everyone, a person could literally be on a dieting or overeating regimen all the days of his or her life all because
of the beholder! Honestly, as styles change, people change and you can only begin to simply hope that you are born skinny when
skinny is beautiful, or hope that you are born in the age where fat is superb and gorgeous.
If this is not what you want, then lose the scale and get comfortable exercising and eating healthy, regardless of your weight simply
because it is good for you - not because it defines your beauty. In conclusion, true beauty for certain is on the inside of us all. It is
when God sees our innermost parts that He chooses us. He does not see us as mankind does. He does not focus on the outer
appearances and stature.
A mighty king was chosen by this inner method - David. True beauty is when we allow our light to shine greater than the darkness,
beginning to put to shame the division that our own tongues slice us with day in and day out, as if we hate one another.
What we should all begin to say back to those who critique is this – “If you didn’t create me, then who are you to rate me?” We all
need to monitor our words. Negative words are like a seed that penetrate any being, and we need to all begin to put out the flame
that scorches our true beauty, whether big or small, rich or poor, fat or skinny.
God created all of us for His pleasure, not to go critiquing what He created by some simple numbers. We are much more than that.
God created that which is good and beautiful, so who are we to reduce His creation to weight?
We must love ourselves as Jesus loves us.

Though lumped in the same name, as if equals, numbers continue to rate people on a global scale. They
define individuals as fat or skinny, or in modern day terms, “not beautiful” and “ever-so-beautiful”.
But we never answer the question with certainty, that is, “Does a numerical weight estimate and classify
our true beauty?”
With certainty, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Somewhere in the next days, God
created man and woman. The one thing that God didn‘t create was a scale. He didn’t need one, for in fact,
He simply created us for His pleasure, no matter what size.
"It is when God
sees our innermost
parts that He
chooses us."
Sometimes, they seem to drive the other unseen evil which disturbs minds and
interrupts dinners almost like it has a voice!
On the skinny side, the voice screams, “You need to gain some weight, you don’t
eat enough, and if you don’t gain weight, they will begin to dislike you”.
While, on the fat side, you may hear, “You need to lose some more pounds, you
eat too much, and if you don’t lose that weight, they will begin to dislike you”.
