trends and reintroduce them to the public. For
instance, when I look at the way kids are dressing
nowadays, they don't realize it, but they look like they
just stepped right out of the eighties.
Skinny jeans, printed leggings, loud psychedelic color
schemes and lots of other things they think are "hot"
and new, really aren't. They're just reinterpretations of
fashion from yesteryear.
There really isn't anything new under the sun.
That's what I want you to keep in mind as you
approach the Spring season. Before you go running
out spending your hard-earned money in this unstable
economy, consider for a moment what you can wear
again, also known as "recycling your wardrobe."
Jeans are big this season, particularly distressed jeans
that essentially look like someone washed them a
hundred times, put them in the garbage disposal, and
handed them back to you all faded and ripped up. For
some reason this is all the rage, along with jean
shorts, and "boyfriend jeans," which are really just
baggy capri pants in my humble opinion.
With the current state of the economy, I recommend
that you pull out your inner "jean-ius" and save
money. Hey, you may as well take your cues from
these savvy designers who simply redefine the old,
and make it new.
So go through your closet in your spare time. Pull out
denim pieces that you already have: Jackets, skirts,
shirts, even handbags. Begin mixing and matching
different tops and bottoms and accessories. You can
come up with some really smart looks to sport.
Remember, never become a slave to the trend. You
have to make it your own and do what works best for
your personal style.

Here's a tip: If you're not really into trends like the
"boyfriend jean" look, go for the more classic style,
by pairing your denim with a lightweight, sporty,
casual blazer and simple jewelry (You can always go
funky on the accessories if you prefer). You can
never go wrong with the classic look, because
thankfully, some things never go out of style.
Have fun and Happy Spring to you!
