Below, I've listed some things we can all do to
become more like the Proverbs 31 woman.

1.) Pray, Pray, Pray: With so much going on
during the day, it can be easy to neglect to spend
much needed quality time with God. But our
relationship with Him should be first! Prayer time
should occur first thing in the morning when we
open our eyes to another day in God's grace. If we
pray first,  the rest of our day will flow more
smoothly and operate in order.

2.) Prioritize: For me, having a toddler means
devoting a good amount of time to  coloring,
shapes, cars, balls and building blocks. My son
would not understand it if I spent my entire day
dedicated to writing and never spent any quality
time with him. Whether you have a toddler or not,
it's important not to become too consumed in one
area and neglect other important people and
things that need attention. Solid priorities help
guide our decisions throughout the day.

3.) Get a Routine: As a stay-at-home mom who
was taught that, “Cleanliness is next to godliness,”
there is no way I can operate in a home that is not
in order. So, I've developed my own routine.
When my son is napping, I play my favorite praise
and worship album and begin cleaning. Find out
what process works for you throughout the day
and then, make it your routine.

4.) Make Quality Time for Loved Ones:
This part is currently the most challenging of all
that are listed above! I’m going to keep it real with
you. By the time my husband is home from work
and after I’ve accomplished (or nearly
accomplished) the tasks I mentioned in this
article, the first thing I think to do is focus more
on the articles and blogs I need to finish writing
for the day. My husband is also a writer, so we
each have to be deliberate about closing our
laptops and spending time with each other.
Whether you're married or single, making a
conscious effort to carve out time for loved ones,
is critical to maintaining healthy relationships.

I am certainly not a perfect person, but
everything I've shared in this article really has
worked for me. These guidelines help bring a
healthy balance to my family and I believe they'll
do the same for you. No matter your age,
vocation, ministry, or relationship status, balance
and life management is vitally important to us all.

I believe that God has equipped women with the
ability to manage well. Now  let’s pray and allow
God to show us how to do it, just as He did wit the
Proverbs 31 woman.

balance.
By Kennisha Hill
THE WOMAN who is so eloquently described
in Proverbs 31 has always intimidated me, to a
certain degree. I've often wondered, could there
ever be a woman so perfect in many ways? As you
read through verses 10-31, you’ll discover the
many incredible talents she has. She’s a very
dedicated wife, her children call her blessed, she is
fashionably designed and an excellent cook!
Creativity and wisdom surround her and she is
giving of herself in ministry.

I’m left to wonder, does she
ever get tired?

Let’s be honest ladies. Wearing many
hats can certainly appear fascinating in
the eyesight of many, but what some
people don’t realize is that, behind
closed doors, we often feel extremely
overwhelmed.

Many times, I've prayed to be like the Proverbs
31 woman. After all, I saw so much of her in my
own mother. Mom raised four children, kept the
house in near perfect condition and always made
time for her husband—all before serving in the
Children’s Ministry at church. I still stand in awe
of her graceful strength; it is a strength that I
faithfully seek God for and strength that is crucial
in my unpredictable life.
As a wife to a husband who travels with his job and
a mother to a very active toddler just shy of two
years old, trying to accomplish certain ministerial
and professional goals can seem almost
impossible. Many days, it doesn’t matter what I
place on my schedule; things end up shifting into a
completely different direction by mid-day.

Oh, and did I neglect to mention I am seven
months pregnant?

Although I have the privilege of staying home
with my son and developing my writing career,
dealing with certain pregnancy discomforts does
not make the journey any easier! When my
husband and I discovered the news of this
pregnancy, we had no idea of the things God had
planned.

Lord You Want Me to Do All THAT?!
About two years ago, the Lord spoke to me about
establishing my writing career. So, I began to do
freelance writing and also started a novel.
Thankfully, I have been
successful at completing
the novel.

Alongside that avenue, God also spoke to me
about starting a newsletter for young married
couples. Marital Bliss Newsletter launched
January 09 and since then it has been going strong
every month. A little later, the Lord confirmed my
first book that was just released called,
“Simply
Wisdom: Tid-Bits of Inspiration for Your
Journey,”
written to encourage others to walk in
their divine calling.

Initially, I felt like, God you want me to do
all
that
?! But, with His help I was able to accomplish
it. Still, that doesn't mean it's always easy.

Before occupying some of my current roles, I
used to question if I would ever be able to juggle
various things and still have a healthy family. I
wondered,  "How do I balance spending quality
time with my husband, training my son and
serving in ministry in the home and at church?"

Again, how did the Proverbs 31 woman do it?

As I continued to pray and seek God about the best
way to approach being a wife, stay-at-home mom
and a writer,
God spelled the answer out to
me in bold ink: BALANCE!

10  A wife of noble character
who can find? She is worth far
more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full
confidence in her and lacks
nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not
harm, all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant
ships, bringing her food from
afar.

15 She gets up while it is still
dark; she provides food for her
family and portions for her
servant girls.

16 She considers a field and
buys it, out of her earnings she
plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work
vigorously; her arms are strong
for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is
profitable, and her lamp does
not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the
distaff and grasps the spindle
with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the
poor and extends her hands to
the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no
fear for her household; for all of
them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for
her bed; she is clothed in fine
linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at
the city gate, where he takes
his seat among the elders of
the land.

24 She makes linen garments
and sells them, and supplies
the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength
and dignity; she can laugh at
the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her
tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs
of her household and does not
eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call
her blessed; her husband also,
and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble
things, but you surpass them
all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and
beauty is fleeting; but a woman
who fears the LORD is to be
praised.

31 Give her the reward she has
earned, and let her works bring
her praise at the city gate.
