DAVID PLOUFFE'S WORDS

When we won Iowa, the Clinton campaign said it's not the number of states you win, it's ‘a contest for delegates.’

When we won a significant lead in delegates, they said it's really about which states you win.
When we won South Carolina, they discounted the votes of African-Americans.

When we won predominantly white, rural states like Idaho, Utah, and Nebraska, they said those didn't count because they won't be
competitive in the general election.

When we won in Washington State, Wisconsin, and Missouri -- general election battlegrounds where polls show Barack is a
stronger candidate against John McCain -- the Clinton campaign attacked those voters as "latte-sipping" elitists.

And now that we've won more than twice as many states, the Clinton spin is that only certain states really count.
But the facts are clear.

For all their attempts to discount, distract, and distort, we have won more delegates, more states, and more votes.
Throughout this entire process, the Clinton campaign has cherry-picked states, diminished caucuses, and moved the goal posts to
create a shifting, twisted rationale for why they should win the nomination despite winning fewer primaries, fewer states, fewer
delegates, and fewer votes.”
Tired of all the spin and dishonest reporting in this
election? Join the club. That's why I'm writing this
article. I want you to know that you aren't the only
one feeling perplexed and annoyed about the spin
cycle.

Let's be clear. The math is not as difficult as some
pundits would like for you to believe. If you've been
following the news stories about the democratic
race for the nomination, then you probably
already know that in order to win a nomination, a
candidate needs 2,025 pledged delegates by the end
of primary season.

Neither Barack Obama nor Hillary Clinton will
reach this number because the race has been so
close. That much is clear. However, there's another
false notion that news anchors, bloggers, and
pro-Hillary politicians have been floating around.
The argument goes something like this:

Even if Barack Obama has more pledged delegates
and is leading in the popular voite at the end of
primary season, the Clinton Camp can still argue
that she is more electable.

Huh???

I know... me too.
We cannot deny that Barack Obama is winning hands down. It
would be inconceivable that anyone would try to override the
democratic process and overturn the will of the voters.

Right now, it appears that her chances of winning are about as real
as the Bosnian sniper fire.

THE WHOLE TRUTH

If that argument leaves you feeling like you've just entered Bazaaro World,
or better yet, The Twilight Zone... good.

That just means you haven't been completely sucked into the dizzying
effect of the political spin cycle. I'm sure you'll take great comfort in this
article, because at least you'll know that there's at least one other rational
person following this political sideshow.

It’s obvious that there are some double standards, double-speak, and double
motives in the race to select a Democratic Presidential candidate. In a
recent email to Obama supporters from David Plouffe, Senator Obama’s
Campaign Manager, he said that the Clinton campaign was “all spun out.”

But I'm not so sure. What will they think of next? After all, the Clinton
strategists have come up with a few doosies in an attempt to snatch away a
seemingly un-winnable nomination from the much favored Barack
Obama. Plouffe put it very plainly when he discussed what was going on.
Take a look at what he said:
