are calling the “deception,” “lies,” and “manipulation” of Paula White, newly appointed pastor of New
Destiny Christian Center.
She is allegedly in collusion with the NDCC board, which has caused Bishop IV Hilliard, Pastor Rico
Sharp, and Riva Tims, ex-wife of the late Dr. Zachery Tims, to cry foul.
These three refuse to allow whitewashing—deceptive words or actions used to cover up wrongdoing—
to prevail in this situation. Hilliard, who was originally part of a committee of four bishops
designated to help appoint the new NDCC leader, abruptly resigned. In a video message Hilliard said,
“My commitment to integrity will not allow me to support something that I believe is deceptive and
that compromises previously agreed upon procedures and protocol.”
According to Pastor Rico Sharp, who was one of the leaders in the running for the position, White
strong-armed her way into the process and hijacked the pastorate by any means necessary. “It’s all
premeditated misleading. Paula lied to Bishop Hilliard, Bishop Jakes, Bishop Neil Ellis, the
congregation, and myself,” said Sharp via Facebook. “She personally stated that the new Pastor have
to be a Married couple with a strong relationship, have Dr Zach’s DNA, and go before the Board of
Bishops. None of that has happened in this whole deceptive process.”
White, who was divorced from her husband Randy White in 2007, admits to struggling with
prescription drug addiction and a host of other personal issues. She is currently Senior Pastor of
Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida, the church she will be abandoning to take on
her New Destiny pastorate, and travels around the country ministering.
While no one has yet stated why Paula White was even placed in position to dictate the terms for the
appointment of the new pastor of NDCC, which seems odd to begin with, a clear story of impure
motives has unfolded. “Dr. Hilliard told me everything that Paula did to manipulate this process and
told me to that I can tell her that he told me (which I did),” Sharp continued in his lengthy Facebook
note. “Dr Hilliard rebuked Paula personally and caught her in lies, and I also have confronted her
personally and discovered lies and manipulation.”
Though individuals who are not inside the ministry affairs cannot provide a play-by-play of the
scandal, a general consensus that White manipulated the process in some regard, has been reached
among most.
But whatever is done in the dark, will come to the light. Isaiah 29:15 says, “Woe to those who go to
great depths to hide their plans from the LORD, who do their work in darkness and think, "Who sees
us? Who will know?"
God knows what did happen, is happening, and will happen.
At the end of the day, servants of God must answer to Him and when you go before God, there is no
whitewashing allowed.
