Dianna is an inspiration to women everywhere who love Empowering Everyday Women Online
Magazine, her music, and her uplifting inspirational blog posts. So how does this empowered
modern mom make doing it all look so easy? How does she homeschool her children, run her
businesses, accept speaking and singing engagements across the country,
and keep her sanity?
Whew! It's tiring just
thinking about it!

"Three words: Priorities, priorities, priorities." Dianna says passionately. "God and family are
first, then comes all the other stuff." And there is plenty of
other stuff Dianna has to juggle.
Because of that, she admits that saying no when necessary is a must!"With business and ministry
obligations, things can get overwhelming if I let them. But my spiritual life and family life is very
important to me. When those opportunities pop up to just go, go, go non-stop, I have to pump the
breaks and  make decisions based on prayer, priorities, and prudence."

As a wife of 13 years and an example to women everywhere of what is truly possible with faith and
plenty of hard work, it's hard to imagine a time when Dianna
wasn't doing any of the things she is
now known for. "When I was younger I just wanted to be a wife and mom," says Dianna who got
hitched at 21. "For as long as I can remember, I wanted to emulate my own mom, you know. I
loved the way I felt when I came home from school everyday and she was there waiting. She
cooked everyday. Gave my sisters, brothers, and me all the love we needed. My mom was an
amazing example of motherhood.  She could always be found reading her word and praying. [She
is] just an all around sweet woman. I feel so blessed to call her
my mom. Yeah, I've always wanted
to be like her. She's wonderful!"

Even though God had a different course for Dianna's life--a lot busier one--at her core, she
embraces traditional values of faith and family above all else, something evident in the 24
devotionals she contributed to the Christian book,
Daily Guideposts: Your First Year of
Motherhood.

The funny, thoughtful, and uplifting pieces Dianna has written in this mommy devotional will bring
comfort to mothers of all walks of life. "I was so honored when I was asked to be one of the authors
of such an important and special book," says Dianna. "Moms need encouragement and inspiration.
I feel so blessed to be able to offer hope and love to so many everyday."

When we asked the busy mom to give us 3 quick tips for modern Christian moms she said:

1. Spend time alone with God daily. Before the kids get up in the morning, I enjoy uninterrupted
time to read, pray, and enjoy silence before the day gets going. Receiving instructions from the
Lord for the day is so crucial! I need God to guide me daily."

2. Enjoy time with your kids and be sure to laugh a lot. Kids are hilarious! I talk to them everyday
and allow myself to get lost in their little world. Taking those moments to really be present with the
kids is so important. Work can wait.

3. Know when you've had enough.  Don't be afraid to shut down, kick your feet up, and just relax.
I enjoy chatting with my husband Kenya, reading, hot bubble baths, or watching a movie with a
nice cup of tea. If you don't take time to unwind, you'll overtax yourself and eventually break
down! Knowing your limit is so important.

Great advice indeed!

Kids are a handful! No question about that.
Taking care of our children, whether
married or single, keeps us busy, busy, busy.
When you add work on top of that, our days
can begin and end with the feeling that we
need a lot more Zzz's than we have time for.
Often, the hectic life of the working mom
leaves her asking the age-old question,
Can
moms really have it all
? Is it possible to find
the time (and energy) to push beyond
cooking dinner, helping out with homework,
engaging in our kids' lives, and meeting
deadlines, to pursue what we believe is our
true life's purpose?
Well, when EEW Magazine's staff launched the  "Modern Christian Mom" parenting column, our
parenting experts decided to highlight EEW Magazine's Founder and Editor-In-Chief, Dianna
Hobbs, as an awesome example of encouragement for moms.

Dianna, who is now recovering from surgery on a broken wrist (Get well Dianna. We love and miss
you!) gave us a quick interview back in January. We're sharing bits of wisdom from this wife, mom
of 4, contributing author to the new book
Daily Guideposts: Your First Year of Motherhood that
hits bookstores in April, recording artist, and entrepreneur. No doubt she is the definition of a
modern Christian woman!
