After a controversial dispute with
Director, Spike Lee, Tyler Perry, who
openly professes his Christian faith, raised
a few eyebrows within the faith
community.  Madea, the outspoken
character created by the media mogul,  is
known to lack decorum. Perry, on the
other hand, is known for a calm demeanor.

But last week, his temper flared. A
typically reserved Perry, went off... and he
wasn't saying "Halleluher" or " Praise da
lort!"

The issue? Well, even though Perry's
movies have taken in over $520 million at
the box office, and Madea is most popular,
Spike Lee,  director of "Do the Right
Thing" and "Malcolm X," has classified
Perry's films as "coonery and buffoonery,"
and stated that they "harken back to Amos
n'Andy."
Tyler Perry Rocks the Box Office with$25.7 Million
Madea's Big Happy Family Lands at #2 After Perry's War of Words with
Director, Spike Lee
Apparently, Perry is tired of the criticism and shade being thrown at his work.

Whether you love the Madea movies or hate them, numbers don't lie. In its opening week-end,
Madea's Big Happy Family landed in the #2 spot, raking in $25.7 million at the box office.

With success after success, Perry has no need to go on the defensive when his films are criticized.
More importantly, as a Christian in the spotlight, showing forth the image of Christ in the eyes of
the public is critical.

Let us continue to pray for Tyler Perry.
