First Lady Mae Blake is the wife of Bishop
Charles E. Blake, Presiding Bishop of the
7-million member Church of God In Christ
(COGIC) organization. As help meet to one
of the most influential spiritual leaders in
the nation, Lady Blake has plenty insights
to share with Christian wives and moms
around the world.
Recently, Mrs. Blake was interviewed by
First Lady Serita Jakes, wife of Bishop TD
Jakes, on behalf of eMotions online
women's magazine, launched by TD Jakes
Ministries in March 2011. The web
publication covers relationships, fashion,
finances, and more.
"Bishop and I have always had, and still
have, a wonderful marriage," Mrs. Blake
tells the magazine. "He has always been
gracious, kind and attentive. He still opens
car doors, and pulls out chairs for me. He

treats me like a queen, and I respect and honor him." Though Bishop Blake is often busy with a
hectic travel schedule and numerous obligations, First Lady Mae Blake shares how the two make
time for each other.
"When Bishop Blake is in town, each morning we have breakfast and ride to work together. This is
always a special time of togetherness for us because he travels so extensively." The sweet couple
have three grown children who are married, and are the proud grandparents of eight.
